
PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio — An overnight Car vs Pedestrian investigation shut down portions of US-23 early Friday morning after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and left critically injured in the median. According to early reports around 2 am on Friday morning. a report from the driver of a car that was on US-23 reported that he thought he hit someone in the roadway around Neville street. When Police arrived they did not find anyone at the intersection but after searching they found a unconscious man laying in the median in the area of the Roadside inn.
Search Leads to Unconscious Victim
Following an immediate search of the surrounding area, officers discovered an unconscious man lying in the median of US-23 near the Roadside Inn. That man was reported to be in serious to trauma related injuries.
Medical Response and Road Closure
First responders dispatched to the scene treated the victim for severe trauma injuries before transporting him to a regional hospital for emergency medical care.
Authorities temporarily closed sections of US-23 overnight to process the crash site, reconstruct the incident, and clear debris.
The identity of the pedestrian and his current medical condition have not yet been released, and the incident remains under active investigation.
