
ROSS COUNTY, OH – The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has released its latest construction update for Ross County, highlighting several major projects currently underway. U.S. Route 35
Resurfacing Project – Crews are resurfacing U.S. 35 between the Jackson County line and Vigo Road.
- At least one lane will remain open in each direction.
- Estimated completion: Fall 2025
County Road 222 (Charleston Pike)
Bridge Replacement Project – Work is ongoing between Blacksmith Hill Road and Concord Church Road.
- All lanes will remain open during construction.
- Estimated completion: Fall 2026
State Route 159 (Bridge Street)
Safety Improvement Project – Crews are making upgrades to interchanges, intersections, lighting, traffic signals, and pedestrian facilities between North Plaza Blvd. and the Chillicothe Mall entrance.
- At least two lanes will remain open in both directions.
- All turn lanes will remain available, including left turns from Bridge Street to River Trace Lane and Consumer Center Drive.
U.S. Route 23
Resurfacing Project – Work continues on U.S. 23 between S.R. 207 and U.S. 35.
- New Impacts (Sept. 5 – Oct. 20): Both northbound on/off ramps at the U.S. 23 and East Main Street interchange will be closed.
- Detour: U.S. 23 North traffic heading to East Main Street/Charleston Pike will use S.R. 159 and loop back south.
- East Main Street/Charleston Pike traffic heading to U.S. 23 North will be detoured via U.S. 23 South to Eastern Avenue (U.S. 50) before reconnecting northbound.
- At least one lane will remain open between S.R. 207 and the U.S. 23/U.S. 35 split.
- Estimated completion: Fall 2025
