CHILLICOTHE, OH — Chillicothe police officers responded to a wide range of calls across the city on Monday, Jan. 5, according to the Chillicothe Police Department’s daily media report released Jan. 6.

The day began shortly after midnight with a criminal trespass complaint at McArthur Gardens on Columbus Street. Officers were dispatched around 12:49 a.m. to investigate a report of unauthorized individuals on the property.

Later in the morning, officers responded to additional trespass and disorderly conduct complaints, including a call on South Renick Avenue around 8:49 a.m. Investigations into those incidents were ongoing at the time of the report.

Police also served a warrant on North Paint Street shortly before 10 a.m., followed by a separate non-criminal complaint on Knoles Avenue involving a trespassing report.

More serious investigations were also opened during the day. Detectives assumed responsibility for two separate investigations involving alleged unlawful sexual conduct with minors, one connected to an incident at a Church Street address and another involving attempted contact with juveniles. Both cases remain under investigation, and no additional details were released.

In the afternoon, officers were dispatched to Laurel Street in response to a criminal mischief and disturbance call, followed by another trespassing complaint on South Paint Street during the evening hours.

One of the most significant incidents occurred later that night when Chillicothe police assisted the Ross County Sheriff’s Office in an active vehicle pursuit that traveled through the city. The pursuit ended near North Bridge Street and North Plaza Boulevard, where one male suspect was taken into custody. That investigation is continuing.

Additional evening incidents included a hit-skip crash on South Brownell Street, where a warrant was issued, and a disorderly conduct complaint at a business on East Main Street.

All cases listed in the report remain under investigation unless otherwise noted, and authorities remind the public that information may be limited as cases progress.
