PICKAWAY COUNTY, OH — On Wednesday, October 8, 2025, deputies with the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jason Robert Pine following a foot pursuit at his residence on S.R. 56, Mount Sterling. Pine had an active arrest warrant at the time.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies Omar Rubio and Z. Irwin attempted to serve the warrant around 10:18 p.m. Upon arrival, Pine was seen exiting his vehicle in an open garage. When instructed to come outside, Pine asked “for what?” and then went back into the residence, closing the door behind him.
Deputies then entered the home, where Pine attempted to evade arrest by jumping a gate inside the kitchen and heading for the front door. Deputy Rubio pursued Pine across a farm field for roughly 250 yards, eventually holding him at gunpoint in the side yard of 18747 Hall Road until Deputy Irwin arrived.
During a pat-down, deputies discovered a small baggie of narcotics in Pine’s front pocket. Initially thought to be methamphetamine, the substance was later identified as crack cocaine. Pine confirmed to deputies at the Pickaway County Jail that the narcotics were crack cocaine, not fentanyl.
Both deputies were wearing body-worn cameras throughout the incident, documenting the pursuit and arrest.
Pine was placed into custody at the Pickaway County Jail, and deputies continue to investigate the case.
