Meet Circleville’s Memorial Day parade Oldest Veteran, Mr. Ned Schreiner

Ned Schreiner was born May 11, 1928 to Edward and Flora Schreiner of Circleville, Ohio.  He is married to Faye Glauner Schriener, who he met on a blind date for Valentine’s Day and married Faye Thanksgiving of 1976.  Together Ned and Faye have three children, eight grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.  

Ned graduated from Circleville High School in 1946 and was drafted in 1950 serving in the U.S. Army in the 40th Tank Battalion, 4th Infantry Division as an Assistant Tank Driver and machine gunner.  Private First Class Schreiner served his nation with honor during the Korean War while in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1952.

After returning home, Ned became a freelance photographer working for many years for the North American Aviation Company, the Columbus Dispatch, Channel 10, Firestone Photography, Cliff Beavers Studio, and the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Department.

Ned then opened his own Schreiner Studio and camera shop working in the Circleville community.

Ned’s service to his community began as a lifelong member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and he attends Crossroads Church with his wife, Faye. He has been a member of the Circleville Rotary Club since 1984 and involved with the National Council of Youth Leadership for many years. Ned loves animals – especially dogs and is active in supporting Partners for Paws for several years.

Circleville and Pickaway County will honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country during the Memorial Day ceremonies and parade on Monday, May 26, 2026. 

8:00 AM The Memorial Day Ceremony at High Street Cemetery

9:00 AM The Memorial Day Parade beginning at the corner of High and Pickaway Streets traveling west to North Court Street, then travel north to conclude at Forest Cemetery on North Court Street .  

10:00 AM The Forest Cemetery Memorial Day service will be held at Soldier’s Glenn 

11:30 AM The Hitler Ludwig Cemetery Memorial Day service located at Hitler Ludwig Road.
