CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — An unidentified suspect is officially on the run—and likely on the banned list—after a late-night craving turned into a full-scale lobby brawl against a pane of glass at the Bridge Street McDonald’s.
According to a Chillicothe Police Department report, Officer Cody Moore was dispatched to the 40 N. Bridge St. location around 10:00 p.m. on September 2, 2026, following reports of a wild vandalism spree.
Restaurant manager Carl Hixon told police that an unknown man strode into the fast-food establishment, bypassed the customer queue entirely, and marched straight behind the counter. For reasons yet unknown, the man began screaming and launching a barrage of curses at bewildered employees and customers.
When management promptly asked him to leave, the suspect took his rage—and his white corded earbuds—out to the parking lot. Finding the lobby window far less responsive to his yelling, he opted to punch the glass directly, shattering the pane before fleeing south on foot.
A sharp-eyed bystander, Shaday Beatty, captured the entire high-stakes Hamburglar-style exit on her phone. The footage, which has since been handed over to law enforcement, depicts a man with a short afro, wearing a black sweatshirt, light-colored pants, and white sneakers, violently settling his score with the window.
Officer Moore patrolled the area and checked with neighboring businesses, but the suspect managed to slip away into the night.
Hixon confirmed to police that the restaurant intends to press charges, get the suspect officially banned from the premises for life, and provide a full estimate of the damage once the glass repair bill arrives.
Chillicothe Police are currently reviewing store surveillance and the bystander footage to identify the suspect. Anyone who sees a man matching the description—and perhaps nursing a very sore right hand—is encouraged to contact the department.
