
LANCASTER, Ohio – Emergency crews responded Saturday afternoon to a residential fire in the 700 block of Washington Avenue after a 911 call was placed at 2:49 p.m., according to the Lancaster Police Department.
Police officers and Lancaster Fire Department crews arrived on scene, with firefighters taking command of the response. Authorities confirmed that there were injuries reported among residents, though the number and severity have not yet been released.
The Lancaster Police Department Detective Bureau and the Fire Department Investigator Unit are jointly investigating the cause of the blaze.
Officials are urging the public to avoid the area while emergency personnel remain on scene. The situation is still considered active.
