LOGAN, OH — On Friday, May 23, 2025, at 07:45 AM EDT, the Hocking Hills Tourism Association (HHTA) announced the expansion of its free park shuttle service, set to begin Saturday, May 24, and run through October 27. The initiative aims to reduce vehicular impact on Hocking Hills State Park’s natural resources while enhancing visitor convenience during the busy summer season.

Two continuous shuttles will operate daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The first will transport visitors from free parking at the Hocking County Courthouse lot in downtown Logan to the Hocking Hills State Park Office at the Old Man’s Cave trailhead. The second will loop between Old Man’s Cave, Hocking Hills State Park Lodge, Ash Cave, and Cedar Falls. The wheelchair-accessible and dog-friendly service, offered in partnership with Logan Public Transit, allows leashed pets and encourages visitors to explore downtown Logan’s dining, shopping, and attractions like the Hocking Hills Children’s Museum before heading to the park.
This expansion aligns with HHTA’s Love Hocking Hills stewardship program, which promotes responsible tourism through Leave No Trace efforts. By reducing traffic and parking challenges, the shuttle service helps preserve the region’s deep gorges, waterfalls, caves, and forests. Visitors are encouraged to visit Lovehockinghills.com to sign the stewardship pledge and learn sustainable practices.

Located an hour southeast of Columbus, Hocking Hills offers diverse lodging options—woodland cabins, tiny houses, treehouses, and more—alongside thousands of acres of hiking trails, the John Glenn Astronomy Park, canopy tours, kayaking, horseback riding, and unique shops.
