June 20, 2021
Deputies responded to Gore-Greendale Road on a report of a male slumped over the steering wheel of a parked vehicle. Upon deputy’s arrival, contact was made with the male who was sleeping. It was later discovered the male had an active warrant out of Logan Police Department. The male was turned over to Logan PD.

While on patrol, deputies discovered a male slumped over the wheel of a parked and running vehicle at Mingo Park in West Logan. Contact was made with the driver, who appeared to be under the influence. The driver refused field sobriety and was placed under arrest for OVI.

Deputies responded to State Route 664 N on a report of domestic violence. As deputies arrived, involved parties informed deputies a male was in the residence with a loaded shot gun. Contact was made with male, who complied with verbal commands from the deputies. Brandon Lee Schrader, Logan, was taken in custody and arrested for domestic violence, assault, and aggravated menacing.

Deputies responded to a State Route 93 address on a report of an assault. Deputies met with the involved parties and discovered a physical altercation occurred over a dispute about the sale of a motor vehicle. Deputies received written statements and documented injuries. Thomas R. Buchanon was charged with Assault.

Deputies responded to Union Road address on a report of breaking and entering. Deputies met with an employee who stated he found the business had been forcibly entered when he arrived for work. A written statement was obtained, including a list of stolen items. The scene was processed by detectives and remains under investigation.

Deputies responded to an Old McArthur Road address for a well-being check. Deputies met with an individual and discovered him to be suicidal. An Emergency Pre-screen evaluation form was completed and the individual was transported to Columbus Springs for evaluation.

Deputies responded to a State Route 93 address on a report of found property. Deputies documented and collected the tools and placed them into evidence.

Deputies responded to a Keota Road address on a report of a theft of firearms. Deputies met with the caller and obtained a written statement. The firearms had been removed from an outside shed without the knowledge of the owner. A report was completed and this case remains under investigation.

Deputies responded to a Carbon Hill – Buchtel Road address for a report of a death. Deputies arrived and obtained statements from persons present. Deputies documented the scene and collected narcotics items in plain view. The deceased was transported to Montgomery County for an autopsy.

Deputies responded to Main Street, in Laurelville, on a follow up for Athens County pertaining to information on a missing person. The resident was located, but could not give deputies information. The information was relayed to Athens County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to State Route 93 N on an investigation of found tools. The tools were collected and placed into evidence while the case is being investigated.

Deputies responded to Rockbridge on a verbal domestic. No threats or physical violence took place. An involved party voluntarily left for the evening.

An O’Neal Road residence arrived at the Hocking County Sheriff’s Office to report his vehicle’s license plate had been stolen. The resident claims to know who took the plate and said he would like it returned.

Deputies responded to Tolliver Road on a welfare check after receiving notification of a female threatening her mother. Deputies discovered the female had stopped taking her meds for her mental instability and was acting erratic. The female was transported to Hocking Valley Community Hospital and pink slipped for evaluation.

Deputies responded to Big Pine Road on a report of an at large canine. The canine killed the resident’s cat while at large. A report was taken and was forward to the Hocking County Sheriff’s Office Dog Warden.

Deputies responded to Old McArthur Road on a fight call. Several parties involved left before deputy’s arrival. The resident requested the involved parties be criminally trespassed from the property.

Deputies responded to State Route 664 N on a 911 disturbance call and hang up. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with both residents who stated they were in a verbal argument. There were no threats or physical assault. One of the parties voluntarily left the residence temporarily.

Deputies responded to a Roby Road address for a report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, deputies met with several individuals. All stated that a verbal and minor physical altercation had occurred but there was no physical violence that had occurred. One of the residents was packing personal items to leave prior to the deputies’ arrival. Deputies warned the occupants for disorderly conduct and advised them the report would be forwarded to the Hocking County Prosecutor for review.

Deputies responded to a Hocking Drive address for a domestic dispute and a neighbor dispute. Deputies spoke to several individuals and determined that no criminal acts had occurred. Deputies advised all parties to be civil to one another. No further action was taken.

Deputies responded to a Buena Vista Road address on a report of harassment. The victim stated someone she did not know was threatening her via Facebook messaging. A written statement was obtained and the victim advised to block the other account. No person could be located with the name listed on the account. A report was completed.

Deputies responded to a Jackson Street address on a report of a verbal domestic dispute. Deputies met with the involved parties and determined that no violence or threats of violence had occurred. One of the parties was voluntarily collecting personal items to leave the residence. A report was completed and no further action was taken.

A State Route 93 resident came to the Hocking County Sheriff’s Office to make a report of theft. The resident stated that they believed another household member removed a PlayStation from the residence without consent. A written statement was obtained and a report was completed. The reportee was informed to bring proof of ownership of the item since the suspect also lived at the address.

Deputies responded to a Jack Run Road address for a report of theft. A statement was obtained from the victim as well as records of use from credit card transactions. Deputies were able to locate video of the suspects and additional information. This case remains under investigation.

Deputies responded to State Route 664 for a report of a vehicle crash. Information was obtained from both drivers and a report completed. No further action taken.

Deputies responded to a Burgoon Road address for a third-party report of narcotics use and suicidal persons. Upon arrival deputies spoke with a male and his two sons. No one was found to be under the influence of narcotics or suicidal. A report was completed and deputies returned to patrol.

Deputies responded to an Unger Road address on a report of a domestic violence. Upon arrival deputies met with two individuals and verbal and written statements were obtained. Deputies later attempted contact with a third involved party but could not locate them. Domestic Violence charges and a request for warrant were forwarded to the Hocking County Prosecutor.

Deputies responded to a Hunt Road address on a custody dispute. The caller reported that the grandparents of her children would not release the juveniles to her. Deputies spoke with the grandparents and the children were released to their legal guardian. A report was completed and no further action was taken.
