Governor DeWine Honors Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction Lieutenant Rodney Osborne

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Governor Mike DeWine has issued an order to lower the flags of the United States and the state of Ohio at all Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction facilities in tribute to the life and dedicated service of Lieutenant Rodney Osborne.

Lieutenant Osborne, a valued member of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, is being remembered for his unwavering commitment to duty and service. In recognition of his contributions, flags will remain at half-staff from the time of the directive until sunset on the day of his funeral.

The gesture, initiated by Governor DeWine, stands as a solemn mark of respect for Lieutenant Osborne’s life and his significant impact within the department and the community.

The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, along with colleagues and friends, mourns the loss of Lieutenant Rodney Osborne and honors his legacy of service and sacrifice.

On April 9, 2024, Lieutenant Osborne was accidentally shot and killed at the Orient training shooting range in a training exercise.
