COLUMBUS, OH — Governor Mike DeWine announced today the activation of the State Disaster Relief Program (SDRP) to assist 11 counties in Ohio that were severely impacted by recent weather events.
The SDRP is designed to provide financial reimbursement for damages that do not qualify for federal assistance but meet state criteria. It aims to support local governments and eligible private non-profit organizations with costs related to debris removal, emergency protective measures, and long-term recovery efforts.
The counties affected include:
Monroe County: Flooding and severe storms from January 24-25
Belmont, Guernsey, Jefferson, Meigs, Monroe, Morgan, Noble, and Washington Counties: Flooding and severe storms from April 1-4
Darke and Mercer Counties: Tornadoes on May 7-8
Cuyahoga County: Tornadoes and severe storms on August 6
Governor DeWine’s authorization allows the Ohio Emergency Management Agency to seek funding from the Ohio Controlling Board based on damage assessments that meet a countywide per capita indicator.
