Mt . Sterling – A fun free event put on annually by the members of Masonic Lodge 269 will happen this weekend.

“We had over 3,000 people go through last year. It went really, really well. Being our first year, we had no idea what to expect. We were blown away,” said lodge member Tom Corbin.

The free event will be available 6-10 p.m. Oct. 29-30 and 1-4 p.m. Oct. 31. The lodge is located at 54 N. London St., Mount Sterling Ohio.

The haunting occupies the first floor of the building adults and kids can tour the event as many times as they want.

This year a funeral procession will make its way down London street at 6 pm on October 29th to kick off the festivities. It will also offer scary movies on an outside screen to entertain the wait lines.

The antique car show will also happen at the same time in the downtown area.

If you survive the gauntlet of spookiness you exit into a graveyard where there will be candy.

This is no small event, over 60 volunteers will man stations to make this one of the biggest free haunted houses in the area.

Food will be on sale at a low cost, hot dogs, hot chocolate, soda, water, chips, and baked goods will be up for sale. One of the meal deals is a hot dog, chips, and a drink for 2 bucks.

“It basically covers the cost of the food is all.”

The scare is adjusted for kids and dialed up for adults. London Road will be closed off for the event.
