FRANKLIN – Franklin Sheriff Dallas Baldwin suspended visitations to the public effective on Monday.

According to a press release the Sheriff stated, “As the Sheriff of Franklin County, I have a responsibility for the health and safety of the inmates in my care, as well as staff members. Due to the recent significant increases in COVID cases in Franklin County, the Sheriff’s Office is suspending public visitation at both Corrections Centers effective Monday, January 10″, 2022.”

The Sheriff said that he would reopen the facility as soon as possible, “I assure you our goal is to restore normal visitation at the first possible opportunity. The Sheriff’s Office fully supports inmates’ opportunities to maintain relationships with family members and loved ones because we believe those relationships are key to successful reintegration. However, our top priority must be the health and welfare of the inmates, your family, and our staff members, including our health care providers. We will be assessing the risk level daily and we appreciate your patience during this mitigation period.”
