Deputies from Vinton County responded to a distress call concerning a female found unconscious in a van parked on South Market Street in McArthur. Upon reaching the vehicle, law enforcement officers discovered Kristy Brady, 31 years old from Portsmouth, accompanied by three young children. Brady exhibited signs of being under the influence of narcotics.

Following a thorough search of the van, deputies uncovered prescription narcotics and straws containing drug residue. Consequently, Brady was taken into custody on charges of Tampering with Drugs, Endangering Children, and possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Recognizing the vulnerable situation of the children, Vinton County Children Services were contacted, leading to the prompt release of the minors into the care of a family member.

Brady was subsequently transported to Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail to await further legal proceedings.

The incident underscores the importance of swift intervention in cases involving drug-related offenses, especially when children are endangered. Law enforcement authorities remain vigilant in safeguarding the community and ensuring the welfare of vulnerable individuals, particularly minors.
