CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — A 54-year-old driver was injured Sunday night after running a stop sign and crashing into a house in Circleville.
According to the Circleville Police Department, emergency responders were called to the crash scene near Cedar Heights Drive and Atwater Road at approximately 9:00 p.m.
Investigating officers found that Joseph Daniel Osborne, 54, of Circleville, was driving a 2005 white Chevrolet Malibu westbound on Cedar Heights Drive when he ran through the stop sign at the intersection, ultimately striking a nearby residence.
Osborne suffered suspected minor injuries and was transported by Circleville Fire Department EMS to OhioHealth Berger Hospital for treatment. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was wearing a shoulder and lap belt at the time of the collision. Front air bags deployed during the impact.
The Chevrolet Malibu sustained disabling damage to its front end and was towed from the scene by Scioto Valley Wrecker Service.
Officer Angelica Verduga cited Osborne for failure to control under state law (O.R.C. 4511.202). Emergency crews spent roughly 54 minutes on scene clearing the roadway. No occupants inside the residence were reported injured.
