JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A Jackson man was injured Wednesday morning after his vehicle left U.S. 35 and struck trees, an embankment and a house in Jefferson Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported at approximately 6:14 a.m. Sept. 23, 2026, on U.S. 35 in Jefferson Township, about a quarter-mile west of the reported reference location.
According to the crash report, Christopher Lee Robinette, 32, of Jackson, was traveling northwest on U.S. 35 in a 2022 Ford Mustang when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway.
The Mustang struck trees and an embankment before ultimately striking a house.
The posted speed limit in the area was 60 mph, and the report lists the vehicle’s speed as approximately 67 mph. Road conditions were wet, with cloudy weather and dawn/dusk lighting conditions reported at the time of the crash.
Robinette was injured and transported by Jefferson Township EMS to Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe. The report lists his injuries as suspected serious injuries.
The Mustang sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene by Sprouse Towing.
The crash report lists failure to control a motor vehicle under Ohio Revised Code 4511.202 as the offense associated with the crash.
The report also indicates that alcohol was suspected; however, the crash report lists no alcohol test as having been administered.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol investigated the crash. Trooper Thomas Schoenfeld responded to the scene at approximately 6:26 a.m., and the scene was cleared around 9 a.m.
The report lists Holly Reynolds and Matthew Reynolds, both of Chillicothe, as witnesses.
