
CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — A 45-year-old Chillicothe man was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence after a crash sent an SUV off the roadway and into a Circleville residence Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Circleville Police Department crash report, the crash occurred around 3:45 p.m. Aug. 5 near Wedgewood Court and Brookhaven Place.
Police said the GMC Yukon was traveling east on Wedgewood Court and had stopped at the stop sign at Brookhaven Place. The vehicle then veered left, struck a curb and continued into a yard before crashing into the residence at 446 Brookhaven Place.
The driver, identified as Jamie Allen Annon, 45, of Chillicothe, was transported by Circleville EMS to Berger Hospital.
The crash report indicates Annon was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, in violation of Ohio Revised Code 4511.19(A)(1)(a).
Alcohol was listed as suspected in the crash report. The report does not indicate that anyone else was in the vehicle.
The GMC Yukon sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
Circleville police remained at the scene for approximately 141 minutes, with the investigation and roadway response concluding around 6:07 p.m.
No additional injuries were listed in the crash report.
The incident remains documented as an OVI-related crash, and additional court proceedings will determine the outcome of the charge.
