PULASKI COUNTY, KY — A destructive tornado tore through southern Kentucky late Friday night into Saturday morning, May 16-17, 2025, causing widespread devastation. As of Saturday morning, at least ten deaths have been reported, with one confirmed fatality in Pulaski County, according to the Pulaski County Fire Chief.

The storm inflicted severe damage across Pulaski County, destroying or heavily damaging dozens, if not hundreds, of homes and businesses. A command center, set up at the Pulaski County Area Technology Center off U.S. 27 at Light #22, sustained damage but remains operational to coordinate recovery efforts. Pulaski County Judge Executive Marshall Todd has declared a State of Emergency to address the crisis and mobilize resources.

Governor Andy Beshear expressed sorrow over the mounting losses, stating, “We are waking up to the news of multiple fatalities from last night’s storms. Please pray for those impacted. We will update as soon as we have more information.” He urged residents to join in prayer for Pulaski County and all those affected by the storms.

This remains an ongoing situation, with emergency response teams working to assess the full extent of the damage and assist survivors. Further updates will be provided as new information emerges.
