Columbus: Gun Store Theft Suspect Shot by ATF Agent During Altercation

Columbus – A man has been shot by a Tobacco and Firearms agent in Columbus tonight.

According to a press release, ATF agents attempted to stop a suspect in a gun store robbery when the suspect fled from law enforcement in his vehicle. Columbus police were called in to help assist. ATF agents attempted to stop the suspect when he drove the wrong way down a one-way street. An altercation between the agent and the suspect occurred after the vehicle was stopped, and the suspect was shot. According to police, a gun was found in the area of the suspect’s vehicle and person.

According to police, the man was transferred to a local hospital where he is expected to survive the shooting.

Currently, the shooting is under investigation from an outside source since recently an agreement was made in these incidents.
