Clark Planetarium and Shawnee State Park host Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Event

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – Tim Hamilton, Professor of Natural Sciences at Shawnee State University, will host an event at Shawnee State Park Marina on Saturday, July 20 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11.

Apollo 11 was the first mission for man to set foot on the moon. The anniversary event will consist of pictures and video of the mission as Hamilton goes into specific detail of how the men got to the moon. Then, those who attend the event will have the opportunity to try out the Apollo space flight simulator which will run scenarios from the Apollo missions, including launch, reentry, and the occasional rocket failure.
