CHILLICOTHE, OH – A woman wanted on a felony warrant out of Circleville was arrested early Thursday morning after a routine traffic stop in Chillicothe escalated into a short foot pursuit and drug seizure.

According to the Chillicothe Police Department, officers initiated a stop on an orange Pontiac on Marietta Road around 3:30 a.m. after discovering its registration was expired. The driver, identified as Karmen Mclean, and her passenger, Jesse Eldridge, showed signs of nervousness during questioning.

While checking Mclean’s information, officers discovered she had a suspended license and two active felony warrants, including one from the Circleville Police Department. As officers attempted to take her into custody, Mclean fled on foot but was quickly tackled and restrained after resisting arrest.

A search of her belongings revealed multiple baggies of a white crystal-like substance, suspected to be methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia. Eldridge was also found with large quantities of suspected meth, drug packaging materials, and a digital scale.

Both individuals were taken into custody, with Mclean booked into the Ross County Jail on her outstanding warrants, as well as new charges of resisting arrest and obstructing official business. Pending lab results, additional drug-related charges may be filed.
