CIRCLEVILLE, OH — Circleville police officers handled more than 30 calls for service throughout the city on Monday, January 6, according to the department’s daily media report, responding to incidents ranging from domestic disturbances and welfare checks to traffic-related complaints and suspicious activity.

Early in the morning, officers were dispatched to Watt Street for a reported fire, but the situation was gone upon arrival and could not be located. Throughout the overnight hours, officers conducted multiple extra patrols in residential neighborhoods including Clark Drive, Edgewood Drive, Mace Drive, Springhollow Road, and Hayward Avenue, all of which checked out without issue.

Later in the morning, police took a report regarding a suspicious person on East Main Street and investigated a 911 hang-up on Lancaster Pike that was determined to be unfounded. Officers also documented a warrant-related report involving Montgomery County Jail and responded to threats and harassment reported on Pleasant Street.

Several welfare checks were conducted during the day, including a call on East Mound Street involving reported suicide threats, where a report was taken. Another welfare check on Edwards Road later in the afternoon resulted in officers being unable to locate the individual.

Domestic-related calls made up a significant portion of the day’s activity, with officers responding to incidents on East Mound Street, North Harrison Street, Mingo Street, and North Court Street. One domestic incident resulted in a report being taken, while others were resolved on scene or handled by another agency.

Police also investigated a non-injury traffic crash on Walnut Street, multiple parking complaints, alarm drops, and utility-related calls. In addition, officers responded to a juvenile complaint involving a dog bite on Guilford Road, where a report was taken.

The evening concluded with calls related to suspicious circumstances and a 911 hang-up, with no major incidents reported.

Circleville police say many of the calls remain routine in nature, while others are still under review. Residents are reminded to report emergencies immediately and to use non-emergency channels for minor concerns when appropriate.
