Circleville Police Officer Saves Home After Report of Fire

CIRCLEVILLE – A Circleville Officer responded quickly and saved a home and adjacent apartments from a structure fire.

According to Circleville Police reports around 9:15 pm on Sunday a woman called 911 reporting that her stove was on fire in her apartment on Caroline Ct in Circleville. Officer Jacob Johansen was close to the scene and was able to respond in minutes.

According to the report Officer Johansen was advised of the situation from the woman and then ran to his cruiser and grabbed a fire extinguisher that most patrol cars carry and ran into the smoke filling home. When he got inside he found the stove to be actively on fire and was able to extinguish the flames before the fire department arrived.

Only smoke damage and a damaged kitchen appliance have been reported as lost in the incident.
