Individuals hired as a Police Officer or Communications Officer may be given credit for prior full-time law enforcement experience in the State of Ohio for purposes of placement on the wage scale and vacation accrual purposes only, at the sole discretion of the Police Chief. Regardless of prior service credit, no newly hired employee will receive any service credit for time spent outside of the Circleville Police Department for any other purpose, including, but not limited, to layoffs, shift selection and/or Longevity. Candidates must still successfully complete the background investigation when requesting a lateral transfer.
