Circleville City School Garret Gray Signs Letter of Intent for Butler University

Circleville City Schools – On Friday, Circleville High School senior Garret Gray signed his national letter of intent to play collegiate baseball and study business and marketing at Butler University in 2019.

Heading into his senior season at catcher, Gray holds a .369 avg. with career marks of 74 RBIs and an OBP of .505 helping the Varsity Tigers to their first Final Four berth in program history in 2018. During his tenure in Red &amp; Black, Gray holds and has held a number of academic and athletic honors including: Team Offensive Player of the Year (2017, 2018), 1st team All-Mid-State League (2017, 2018), 2nd team All-Mid-State League (2016), 1st team All-Southeast District (2017, 2018), 2nd team All-Southeast District (2016), was named a recipient of the Roller Scholar-Athlete Award, and is currently the president of the Circleville High School Everts Chapter of the National Honor Society.

“I decided on Butler because I love the location of campus and love how it is one of the best academic schools in the Midwest region,” said Gray. “I also love the direction the coaching staff is leading the baseball team in. Also, I will get an opportunity to play early and contribute as a freshman. The Big East is a competitive conference and I can’t wait.”

Gray is the son of proud parents Laura and Travis Gray of Circleville and is the older brother of sister Sidney and brother Austin.
