Circleville Arrests Two After Responding to Unresponsive People in Vehicle

CIRCLEVILLE – On June 25, 2021 the Circleville Police Department Communication Center received a report of a male and female possibly unresponsive in a vehicle.

Officers responded to area of Pickaway Crossing on a male and female passed out in a vehicle. Upon arrival officers located the vehicle in question and laying on the center console was a loaded Glock handgun with a high-capacity magazine and a bag of suspected narcotics in plain view. Officers removed Kelsi Shaffer and Hunter Schwalbauch from inside of the vehicle.

Upon Officers searching the vehicle they located multiple high-capacity magazines and other Glock magazines fully loaded with ammunition. Officers also located digital scales, plastic baggies, multiple pills, and other drug paraphernalia inside of the vehicle. After completing a search of the vehicle Officers located 6.1g of Methamphetamine.

Kelsi Shaffer was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Improperly Handling of a Firearm in a Vehicle and Weapons Under Disability. Hunter Schwalbauch was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Improper Handling of a Firearm in a Vehicle and Weapons Under Disability. Both Kelsi and Hunter were arrested and transported to the county jail without incident.Due to small children and families in the area while Kelsi and Hunter were there with the narcotics and firearm the charges were enhanced to a Felony of the 2nd degree.
