CHILLICOTHE, OH — The Ross County Historical Society is thrilled to announce the return of Dr. Curt Fields, the nation’s premier Ulysses S. Grant reenactor, for a captivating evening of Civil War history. The event is set for Friday, May 23, at 6:00 p.m. at the Ross County Heritage Center, located at 45 W. Fifth Street, Chillicothe.

Dr. Fields, a celebrated living historian, brings the 18th U.S. President and Civil War general to life with his immersive first-person portrayal. Using Grant’s own words from memoirs, letters, and historical accounts, Fields delivers an authentic and engaging performance that transports audiences back to one of America’s most defining eras. His striking resemblance to Grant and dedication to historical precision have earned him acclaim across 22 states.

Fields has performed at significant historical commemorations, including the 150th anniversaries of the Battles of Fort Donelson, Shiloh, Vicksburg, and the Appomattox surrender. His portrayal has been featured in documentaries like the Discovery Channel’s How Booze Built America and National Geographic’s Diggers, as well as in official films at national historic sites, including Appomattox Court House and Fort Donelson.
