CHILLICOTHE, OH – June 18, 2025
Chillicothe Police were kept busy throughout Tuesday, June 17, responding to a range of incidents across the city, including multiple warrants served, drug investigations, traffic violations, disorderly conduct, and more serious offenses like assault and trespassing.

Early Morning Activity Begins with Traffic Stops, Trespassing
Just after midnight, officers initiated a traffic stop near Water Street and Scioto Avenue for a missing license plate light, which led to citations for a suspended license. Minutes later, a report was filed regarding a disabled vehicle on South Douglas Avenue. At 12:33 a.m., an employee at the Speedway on North Bridge Street flagged down an officer over a criminal trespass incident—one of several involving the gas station throughout the day.

Warrants and Protection Order Violations
By 12:34 a.m., officers were dispatched to Waverly in connection with a warrant, while another call at 12:47 a.m. involved an alleged violation of a protection order on South Brownell Street, where a man reportedly threw rocks at a residence. Later that morning, authorities took custody of Jason Browning at the county line for a failure-to-appear warrant and continued serving warrants into the afternoon, including one at Adena Regional Medical Center.

Death Investigation and Drug Probe
At 12:34 p.m., police responded to a non-suspicious death at a residence on McKeller Street. Shortly after, a detective launched a new investigation into suspected drug trafficking within city limits, according to a report filed at 1:37 p.m.

Afternoon Disorder and Domestic Disputes
Several calls throughout the afternoon dealt with disorderly conduct, including a domestic disturbance on Columbus Street and a dispute between neighbors on Clay Street. At 4:25 p.m., Carl Bowling was cited on Church Street for driving while texting and operating a vehicle without a valid license.

Theft, Assault, and More Trespassing
A theft report was filed at 6:12 p.m. by a resident on Enderlin Circle, followed closely by an OVI arrest on Vincent Street after officers stopped a vehicle for improper license plate display. A serious complaint involving a vehicle allegedly attempting to hit someone on North Brownell Street led to another active investigation. Around 6:43 p.m., police responded to an assault at an East 4th Street address.

Evening Incidents and Felonious Assault
As the night progressed, another criminal trespass incident was reported at Speedway on Bridge Street, and an assault victim was treated at Adena Regional Hospital stemming from an incident on Mechanic Street. A second arrest for trespassing at the same Speedway location capped off the day’s log.
