Chillicothe Police Respond to Multiple Incidents in Daily Report

Chillicothe police officers responded to a series of incidents on March 7, 2025, ranging from traffic violations and warrants to assault and theft cases, according to the department’s daily media report.

Among the notable incidents:

  • Traffic Stop & Warrant Arrests: Officers initiated a traffic stop on an orange Pontiac on Marietta Road, with the investigation still pending. Additional warrant arrests were reported on North Paint Street and North Bridge Street throughout the day.
  • Animal Cruelty Complaint: Authorities responded to a report of animal cruelty at a residence on North High Street. The investigation remains ongoing.
  • Assault in Park Area: Police are investigating an assault near the entrance of Yoctangee Park, reported early in the morning.
  • Traffic Violations: Several citations were issued, including a driver who was observed speeding and running a red light in a school zone on Yoctangee Parkway. Another motorist was cited for failing to signal before changing lanes.
  • Disorderly Conduct & Threats: Officers were dispatched to Christy’s Pizza on Water Street after a threats complaint was reported. Investigators are continuing to look into the situation.
  • Theft & Fraud Cases: A theft was reported at Walmart on River Trace Lane involving a phone scam. Another theft occurred at a business on East Main Street, as well as a shoplifting case at Menards on North Bridge Street.
  • Assault Reports: An assault was reported on Lincoln Avenue in the afternoon, with police actively investigating the incident.
  • Traffic Accidents: Officers responded to multiple vehicle accidents, including an injury crash on East Main Street and another multi-vehicle crash on East Second Street.
  • Non-Suspicious Death Investigation: Authorities were called to a residence on Locust Street for a non-suspicious death investigation.
  • Hit-and-Run Crash: A hit-skip traffic crash was reported at a location on North Bridge Street, with the suspect leaving the scene before officers arrived.
