
CHILLICOTHE, OH — Chillicothe police officers responded to a wide range of calls and incidents throughout the city on Monday, January 6, according to the department’s daily media report, which documented 20 total cases over a 24-hour period.
Among the incidents, officers made contact with a male on East Second Street shortly after 1 a.m. who was found to have an active arrest warrant. The investigation related to that case remains ongoing.
Police were also dispatched to Scioto Avenue early Tuesday morning in response to a missing person report involving David Stevens, who was reported to have run away from home. That investigation is continuing.
Traffic enforcement accounted for several cases during the day, including multiple stops for driving while texting, fictitious license plates, unilluminated plates, and equipment violations on Water Street and North Bridge Street.
Officers handled numerous disorderly conduct complaints across the city, including incidents on Western Avenue, Adams Avenue, Allen Avenue, Old Eastern Avenue, and East Water Street. Several of these calls involved intoxication, domestic disputes, or road rage, with multiple investigations still active.
More serious incidents reported included a possible burglary on Maplewood Drive, a criminal simulation case involving counterfeit money at a Western Avenue bank, aggravated menacing reported at the Law Enforcement Complex, and a vandalism complaint on Ewing Street.
Detectives also opened investigations into an alleged sex offense on North Paint Street and an undercover investigation related to corrupting another with drugs involving a juvenile on Orange Street. Details in those cases have not yet been released.
In addition, officers responded to a non-injury traffic crash on East Main Street that escalated into a disorderly situation, resulting in an arrest and the completion of a crash report.
Several calls, including nuisance complaints and trespassing reports, remained under investigation as of the report’s release.
