Chillicothe Police Respond to Multiple Incidents Across City on Dec. 27

CHILLICOTHE, OH — Chillicothe police officers were kept busy throughout the day on Friday, December 27, responding to a wide range of calls including thefts, disorderly conduct complaints, a reported runaway juvenile, a drug overdose, and an injury crash, according to the Chillicothe Police Department’s daily media report.

Officers were first dispatched shortly after 10:30 a.m. to a residence in the 700 block of Adams Avenue in reference to a reported runaway juvenile. The child was believed to be staying at the location and was supposed to be asleep at the time of the call. The incident was classified as disorderly conduct involving an unruly child.

Around 10:54 a.m., officers responded to a theft complaint reported at a residence on Maderia Avenue, connected to an incident that allegedly occurred on East Seventh Street. That investigation remains ongoing.

Just before noon, police were called to the 300 block of East Second Street for a domestic dispute. The incident was classified as disorderly conduct, and officers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the call.

Additional calls followed throughout the late morning and early afternoon, including a criminal mischief complaint on South Hickory Street and a reported theft at Kohl’s on River Trace Lane. Officers also responded to an injury crash in the area of Keller Road at approximately 2:48 p.m., with the investigation still underway.

Later in the afternoon, police were dispatched to East Second Street for a reported drug overdose, which was also classified as disorderly conduct involving intoxication creating a risk of harm. No further details were immediately released.

Officers returned to Kohl’s on River Trace Lane around 4:47 p.m. for a reported theft in progress. That case remains under investigation.

Multiple calls were logged around 5:13 p.m. on Liberty Street related to a 911 hang-up and a domestic dispute. Officers responded, separated the involved parties, and took a report. No further action was reported.

Additional incidents during the evening hours included a theft complaint on Riverside Street involving allegations of criminal trespass, obstructing official business, and resisting arrest, as well as a report of illegal dumping behind a property on West Second Street. In the dumping case, a report was taken and no further action was required.

In total, Chillicothe police handled 12 reported incidents throughout the city on December 27. Several investigations remain ongoing, and no additional information has been released at this time.
