Chillicothe Police Log: Hit-and-Run, Theft, and Warrant Arrests Highlight a Busy Saturday

CHILLICOTHE, OH — The Chillicothe Police Department stayed active this past Saturday, May 9, 2026, handling a dozen incidents ranging from late-night disturbances to a hit-and-run accident near a popular local eatery.

Traffic Violence & Theft Investigations
At approximately 5:14 PM, officers were dispatched to the Rally’s on North Bridge Street following a motor vehicle accident. The preliminary report (PD-P2601836) indicates a “hit-and-run” scenario involving a driver who allegedly failed to yield to a pedestrian on the sidewalk. Police are currently continuing their investigation into the identity of the driver who left the scene.

Earlier in the afternoon, at 1:35 PM, a theft was reported at a residence in the 400 block of North High Street. The victim reported items taken without consent, and the case remains under active investigation.

Warrants and Inter-County Coordination
Saturday saw a significant focus on serving active warrants.

Early in the morning, around 3:00 AM, Chillicothe officers met with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office on North Paint Street to transport and process a suspect on an outstanding warrant.

At 3:10 PM, an officer served another warrant directly within the Ross County Jail.

Later that evening, at 6:39 PM, a patrol officer spotted and apprehended Myles Bayless on Warner Avenue after confirming he had an active warrant for his arrest.

Disorderly Conduct & Domestic Disputes
The weekend’s reports began and ended with disturbances involving disorderly conduct.

Just after midnight, officers responded to Edgewood Drive regarding an intoxicated individual allegedly making threats and creating a risk of harm.

At 10:07 PM, police arrived at the Overlook Apartments on Anderson Station Road to intervene in a domestic dispute.

The night concluded with a final disorderly conduct call at 11:00 PM in the 100 block of North Sugar Street.

Street-Side Menacing
In an unusual encounter at 3:31 PM, an officer was flagged down by a male at the intersection of North Mulberry and Riverside Street. The individual reported an incident of menacing. Police have not yet released the names of the suspects involved as the investigation continues.
