CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A 67-year-old Chillicothe man was killed Monday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle on Rozelle Creek Road in Ross County.
Troopers with the Chillicothe Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are currently investigating the fatal pedestrian crash, which occurred around 5:13 p.m. on Sept. 28 near 194 Rozelle Creek Road, just east of State Route 772 in Huntington Township.
According to state troopers, 23-year-old Emma Silcott of McArthur was driving a 2021 Kia K5 southwest on Rozelle Creek Road when the vehicle struck Willard Colvin in the roadway.
Colvin was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported by Ware’s Funeral Home. Silcott reported no injuries.
Emergency responders closed Rozelle Creek Road for roughly two and a half hours Monday evening to conduct an initial investigation and clear the scene.
Assisting the Ohio State Highway Patrol on scene were Huntington Township Fire and EMS, the VA Fire Department, the Ross County Coroner’s Office, and Hills Towing.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by state troopers.
