Chillicothe Police had a full slate of incidents on Saturday, June 14, ranging from drug violations and traffic stops to disorderly conduct, thefts, and even a case of waffle-related parking issues.
Here’s a rundown of the day’s notable incidents:
- Drug Possession & Traffic Stops: Just after midnight, officers conducted a stop on Eastern Avenue where a suspect was found in possession of a Schedule I or II drug. The individual was issued a summons. Several additional traffic stops took place throughout the early morning on Charleston Pike, N. McArthur Street, and East Main, with citations issued for driving under suspension and other infractions.
- Juvenile & Protection Order Cases: Officers responded to a suspicious person call on N. McArthur involving a juvenile, and later handled a reported violation of a protection order on Fleet Street.
- Theft & Found Property: Around 1:25 p.m., officers were dispatched to Plyleys Lane to investigate a theft. On Cleveland Street, officers recovered a lost cellphone and secured it until its rightful owner can be located.
- Crashes & Citations: An injury accident occurred at the intersection of Western Ave and Plyleys Lane; one driver received a citation. Additional calls involved a hit-skip crash on W. 5th Street and another leaving-the-scene complaint later reported at the Law Enforcement Complex.
- Parade Parking & Dog Trouble: Officers were busy removing illegally parked cars on Water Street to clear the way for the parade. Later, a call on E. 2nd Street involved a dog left unrestrained on a shared porch; a summons was issued.
- Disorderly Conduct & Arrests: Several disorderly conduct calls were made throughout the evening — including incidents on W. Water St, E. Main St, and Olive Street. One incident led to an arrest after a male became combative and resisted arrest, causing injury to an officer.
- Criminal Mischief & Suspicious Behavior: A female suspect was reported breaking windows at McArthur Gardens around 9:56 p.m., while another call just moments later involved an unruly juvenile on N. High Street.
- Late Night Oddities: Near the end of the day, police responded to a man found lying on the sidewalk along N. Bridge Street. The incident was non-criminal, and officers ensured the individual received assistance.
Overall, 26 cases were logged for the day, highlighting the variety and pace of law enforcement activity in the city.
