BREAKING: One Person Shot at Lancaster’s Rising Park, Air Medical Called

LANCASTER, Ohio — Emergency crews responded to Rising Park in Lancaster shortly after noon Sunday following reports of a person suffering from a gunshot wound.

According to information gathered at the scene, the injury may have been self-inflicted, although officials have not yet publicly confirmed the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Emergency crews surrounded the area as first responders worked to treat the victim. CPR was reportedly performed, and an air medical helicopter was requested as part of the emergency response.

The victim was transported to a critical-care hospital for treatment. Their current condition has not been released.

At approximately 12:22 p.m. today, the Lancaster Police Department was notified of a shooting at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds.

Upon arrival, officers located one deceased male with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. There is no known threat to the public at this time.
