Amanda-Clearcreek’s New Athletic Director is a Former Pickaway County Graduate

AMANDA, Ohio (July 25, 2022)  The Amanda-Clearcreek Board of Education has approved the hiring of Jamie Justus as the new Athletic Director of Amanda-Clearcreek Local Schools (Amanda-Clearcreek). Justus has instructed business, marketing and wellness classes in the Amanda-Clearcreek Middle School and High School for the past three years.

“We look forward to Mr. Justus leading the Amanda-Clearcreek Aces as our district’s athletic director,” said Dr. Timothy Edwards, Amanda-Clearcreek Local Schools superintendent. “Jamie has extensive experience in coaching and education and a passion for athletics. We are confident that he will continue to support and grow our programs in his new role.”

Justus is a 2003 graduate of Logan Elm High School. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in physical education and health services from Ohio University, and continued his collegiate education at The Ohio State University, where he studied career and technical education.

“I am extremely excited to take on the leadership role of the Aces Athletic Department, said Justus, Amanda-Clearcreek athletic director. “It is incredibly rewarding to give back to a community that has provided me with so much.”

Justus has served as the Head Varsity Boys Basketball coach at Amanda-Clearcreek since 2019. His coaching career includes seven years in varsity head coach positions, including roles at Federal Hocking and Nelsonville-York High School. He has also served as the junior high boys basketball coach and three seasons as the junior varsity baseball coach. Justus has led the district’s biddy basketball program since 2019, taking the program from 50 participants to over 120 participants this winter in grades kindergarten through sixth grade. He has been a licensed OHSAA baseball umpire for 18 years, an OHSAA football official for five years and licensed OHSAA basketball official for four years.
