Chillicothe — The next two days will be a grand reopening of Yoctangee Park, after two years of renovation.

The city has an announcement on its website. I couldn’t find a schedule except at the end of the video on the city’s Facebook page, but see my screenshot of it below.

Events on Friday focus on the park ribbon-cutting at the amphitheater and multipurpose pavilion at 1pm, with an open house and resource fair at Memorial Armory starting at 2pm, and games, food, and music until 5pm. The city’s trolley bus will also be making rounds of the park from 11:30 to 1, in addition to its regular route.

Ohio Governor Mike Dewine has been mentioned as appearing like he did two years ago, but recent announcements do not mention that.

Saturday focuses on the 8:45am ribbon-cutting at the new location of the Chillicothe Farmers Market, with music and dance until 6pm.

The city and other city groups have been posting photos and videos of the progress. See the latest batch on the city’s Facebook page, with another from September 2nd.

Chillicothe Council sessions will now be held in the Armory until further notice, starting on Monday. A week after, on November 15th, will be a zoning open house there on possible updates to city code prompted by the proposed data center at the paper mill.
