CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a variety of calls throughout the city on Saturday, August 2, including a reported shooting, multiple disorderly conduct complaints, thefts, juvenile incidents, and a criminal trespass investigation.
The most serious incident occurred at 1:01 a.m., when officers were dispatched to 149 W. Seventh Street after reports of a shooting. The case is being investigated as improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habitation or school, according to the department’s daily media report. Additional details about the incident, including whether anyone was injured, were not immediately available.
Less than an hour later, officers responded to the Cozy Inn on Western Avenue for a disorderly conduct complaint. Shortly afterward, at 2:34 a.m., police were called to IHOP, 10 Consumer Center Drive, for a reported fight involving disorderly individuals.
At 2:42 a.m., officers were dispatched to 28 N. Paint Street regarding an outstanding warrant. The investigation remains ongoing.
During the morning hours, officers were called to Walmart at 9:30 a.m. for what was reported as an active theft incident involving shoplifting. Later, at 10:05 a.m., police responded to Orange Street for another disorderly conduct complaint that remains under investigation.
Domestic-related calls continued throughout the afternoon. At 4:16 p.m., officers responded to 929 Toledo Street for a reported domestic dispute that resulted in a disorderly conduct investigation.
Later, at 5:45 p.m., officers were called to Sunnyside Dispensary, 1641 N. Bridge Street, for a disorderly individual who was reportedly trespassing. A report was taken, and no further action was required.
Police also investigated another disorderly complaint at 7:24 p.m. near Watt Street and Cox Avenue.
Juvenile-related calls kept officers busy during the evening. At 7:52 p.m., officers responded to Lincoln Park, 78 W. Seventh Street, after reports of juveniles fighting. Another juvenile complaint was reported at 411 W. Main Street at 8:20 p.m.
The day’s final reported incident occurred at 11:10 p.m., when a woman met with officers at the Law Enforcement Complex to report that her purse had been stolen.
In total, the Chillicothe Police Department documented 13 incidents on August 2. Several of the investigations remain ongoing.
