A chain-reaction traffic accident on West Water Street resulted in charges for a local driver on Thursday afternoon.

According to police records, at 2:55 PM, a vehicle driven by Emma Arledge was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Water and Walnut Streets. A second vehicle, driven by Ronald Zedalis, was also stationary directly behind Arledge’s car.

A third vehicle, driven by Franklin Butterbaugh, failed to stop for the stagnant traffic and rear-ended Zedalis’s vehicle, forcing it forward into Arledge’s car. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 24, 2026.
