CIRCLEVILLE, OH — The Circleville Police Department had a busy mid-week shift on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, processing 35 total calls for service. The day was marked by multiple arrests, two separate fraud investigations, and an evening assault report.

OVI and Warrant Apprehensions Lead to Arrests

Police executed two arrests over the 24-hour period, taking individuals into custody for impaired driving and an outstanding legal warrant.

  • Early-Morning Drunk Driving: At 2:31 AM, officers intercepted a vehicle on South Court Street, resulting in an immediate arrest for impaired driving.
  • Warrant Arrest: Mid-afternoon patrol efforts led officers to Lancaster Pike at 2:44 PM, where a planned warrant service successfully ended with a suspect taken into custody.

Assault, Threats, and Neighbor Disputes

Personal disputes and safety complaints kept officers moving between residential neighborhoods throughout the day.

  • Atwater Avenue Assault: At 7:19 PM, officers rushed to Atwater Avenue following a report of an assault. A formal report was taken, and an active investigation is underway.
  • Threats and Harassment: Police took two separate reports for threats and harassment on Wednesday. The first occurred on Pleasant Street at 10:47 AM, and the second was logged on Renick Avenue at 1:00 PM.
  • Domestic and Neighbor Trouble: Officers responded to Plaza Drive at 1:00 AM for a domestic trouble call, which resulted in an official report. Later, at 3:11 PM, a neighbor dispute on Hillcrest Drive also required a formal police report to be filed.

Scams and Property Crimes Reported

Financial and property crimes drew law enforcement attention during the afternoon and evening hours.

  • Double Fraud Reports: Investigators are looking into two separate instances of fraud reported on Wednesday. The first report was filed at 3:46 PM on South Washington Street, followed by a second fraud complaint on East Franklin Street at 6:28 PM.
  • South Court Street Theft: At 3:50 PM, officers responded to a business or residence on South Court Street to document a theft complaint.

Rapid Shifts and Elusive Calls

A significant portion of Wednesday’s log involved incidents where the subjects cleared the area before police cruisers arrived. Officers were unable to locate targets or reported suspects “Gone On Arrival” (GOA) during several calls, including:

  • Early morning disturbances on Villa Drive and Georgia Road.
  • Two separate juvenile complaints on North Scioto Street and South Scioto Street.
  • A “hotrodder” traffic complaint on South Pickaway Street at 5:34 PM.
  • A suspicious person report on Hayward Avenue just before midnight.
  • Six separate failed warrant service attempts scattered across North Pickaway Street, East Ohio Street, Progress Parkway, and Rustic Court.

Emergency Services & Traffic

  • Edgewood Drive Traffic Stop: The day’s first logged activity began at 12:34 AM with a traffic stop on Edgewood Drive that resulted in a formal citation.
  • Carbon Monoxide Response: At 4:07 PM, officers and emergency squads responded to East Main Street for a carbon monoxide alarm. The situation was handled entirely on-scene, and no patients required transport to the hospital.

All individuals arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Active investigations, including the Atwater Avenue assault and the local fraud cases, remain open.
