CIRCLEVILLE, OH — The Circleville Police Department processed 34 calls for service on Monday, June 22, 2026, resulting in multiple arrests, a drunk driving citation, and an investigation into a late-night assault.

The daily log showed a steady mix of traffic enforcement, juvenile complaints, and domestic interventions keeping local officers moving throughout the 24-hour period.

Domestic Dispute, Traffic Stops Lead to Three Arrests

Circleville officers executed three separate arrests over the course of the day following a domestic disturbance and late-night traffic enforcement.

  • Early Morning Domestic Trouble: Officers rushed to Abernathy Avenue at 4:16 AM on a report of domestic trouble. The intervention resulted in an immediate arrest at the scene.
  • Evening Traffic Stops: Traffic enforcement net two additional arrests later in the day. The first occurred during an 8:00 PM traffic stop on John Street. The second took place just over two hours later, at 10:11 PM, during a traffic stop on South Washington Street.

Late-Night Assault and Drunk Driving Citations

The log bookended Monday with major safety violations on local roadways and residential streets.

  • OVI Citation: At 1:21 AM Monday morning, officers intercepted a vehicle on Walnut Creek Pike. A citation was issued to the driver for operating a vehicle under the influence (OVI).
  • Assault Report: Just before midnight, at 11:16 PM, police responded to a report of an assault on South Court Street. Responding officers took an official report, and an active investigation is underway.

Gumm Place Targeted by Vehicle Crime?

Property and vehicle safety drew police to Gumm Place twice within a short window Monday morning. At 7:36 AM, a caller reported a stolen vehicle on the street. Roughly an hour and twenty minutes later, at 8:55 AM, another call came in regarding a suspicious vehicle at the same location. In both instances, responding units reported the vehicles were Gone On Arrival (GOA) or they were unable to locate them.

Day Shift Traffic & Juvenile Incidents

  • Juvenile Complaints: Officers responded to three separate juvenile complaints. A formal report was taken following a 3:51 AM call on Lancaster Pike. Subsequent juvenile calls on West Main Street (6:32 AM) and a return to Lancaster Pike (8:12 PM) saw the subjects clear the area before officers arrived.
  • Wreck Handled by Outside Agency: At 3:10 PM, a non-injury, property-damage vehicle accident occurred on West Main Street. The incident was handed over to another responding agency for processing.
  • Traffic Sweeps: Officers initiated more than a dozen traffic stops across major corridors like South Court Street, North Court Street, and East Ohio Street. While the vast majority resulted in warnings, an evening stop on East Main Street at 5:46 PM ended with a formal citation.

All individuals arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Active investigations, including the South Court Street assault, remain open.
