TARLTON, Ohio — Residents across Pickaway County are being encouraged to dig through family photo albums and historical collections as part of a new community exhibit celebrating local history ahead of America’s 250th anniversary.

ArtsaRound and the Village of Tarlton have announced “America 250: Reflections of Pickaway,” a community historical photo exhibit that will showcase images highlighting the people, places, and events that have helped shape Pickaway County through the years.

The exhibit is part of local America 250 celebrations commemorating the nation’s 250th birthday and will feature historical photographs submitted by residents from Pickaway County and neighboring communities.

Organizers are seeking a variety of images, including family gatherings, farms, schools, churches, businesses, community celebrations, landmarks, and everyday moments that capture the area’s history and heritage.

Selected photographs will be displayed during the Village of Tarlton’s America 250 Celebration on July 11, 2026, with an expanded exhibit planned throughout August at the ArtsaRound Gallery in downtown Circleville.

Community members may submit up to three photographs between June 13 and June 27. Photos can be dropped off at the ArtsaRound Gallery, located at 135 W. Main Street in Circleville, or at Saltcreek Slice, 90 E. Main Street in Tarlton.

According to organizers, original photographs, reproductions, restored images, and colorized photographs are eligible for submission. However, AI-generated images will not be accepted.

In addition to community recognition awards, each photo submission will earn a raffle ticket for a chance to win an item from the event’s silent auction.

“Every photograph has a story,” said Jenny Rhoads of ArtsaRound. “This exhibit is an opportunity to preserve those stories, celebrate our shared history, and create connections between generations as we commemorate America’s 250th anniversary.”

Organizers hope the exhibit will not only preserve local memories but also encourage residents to share stories and connect with Pickaway County’s rich history.

Additional information, entry forms, and submission guidelines are available through ArtsaRound.org.
