
CIRCLEVILLE, OH — The Honorable Judge Matthew H. Chafin presided over a high-volume docket in the Pickaway County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. The day’s proceedings saw several defendants sentenced to state prison, while others entered “Not Guilty” pleas to serious felony charges, including rape and drug trafficking.
Sentences Handed Down
Several individuals appeared for sentencing following earlier guilty pleas or probation violations. Notable dispositions include:
- Alyssa Kay Meadows, 34, of Midway: Sentenced to a total of 42 months in the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC). She pled guilty to an amended charge of Aggravated Possession of Drugs (F-3) and Illegal Conveyance of Drugs onto the Grounds of a Detention Facility (F-3).
- Misty Dawn Lee, of Circleville: Following a re-sentencing hearing, Lee was ordered to serve a total of 4 1/2 years in the ODRC for multiple counts.
- Donald J. Cox, 40, of Circleville: Admitted to a Violation of Probation (VOP) and was sentenced to 18 months in the ODRC.
- Jason R. Pine, of Circleville: Received 3 years of community control following a PSI (Pre-Sentence Investigation) hearing. If he violates the terms, he faces a 12-month prison sentence.
- Chad C. Mumaw, 49, of Circleville: Sentenced to 3 years of community control with a 12-month underlying prison sentence. He was also ordered to pay $2,761.77 in restitution.
- Tammie Renee Brown, 49, of Salem: Placed on 3 years of community control. A violation could result in a 36-month prison sentence.
New Arraignments and “Not Guilty” Pleas
The court also heard several new cases where defendants entered “Not Guilty” pleas. Pre-trial dates for the following individuals have been set for June 2026:
- Brian D. McBride: Entered a plea of Not Guilty to charges of Rape (F-1), Sexual Battery (F-3), and two counts of Gross Sexual Imposition (F-3). Bond was set at $150,000.00.
- Nasir Dior Anthony Crockett: Pled Not Guilty to Trafficking in Cocaine (F-1) and Trafficking in a Fentanyl-Related Compound (F-4). Bond was set at $150,000.00.
- Jonathan Thomas Voss, 27: Facing charges including Improperly Handling Firearms in a Motor Vehicle (F-5) and OVI. He pled Not Guilty and was released on an own-recognizance (OR) bond.
- Hanley D. Davis: Pled Not Guilty to Receiving Stolen Property (F-4) and Failure to Comply with an Order or Signal of a Police Officer (F-3).
- Douglas S. Webster, Jr.: Entered a Not Guilty plea to Aggravated Possession of Drugs (F-3).
- Matthew Dalton: Pled Not Guilty to Violating a Protection Order (F-5). Bond set at $5,000.00.
- Gary L. Giffin, Jr.: Pled Not Guilty to two counts of Receiving Stolen Property (F-4). Bond set at $5,000.00.
Other Court Actions
In administrative and post-conviction matters, the court granted a Sex Offender Registration (SOR) request for Michael P. Thompson, 48, of Columbus. However, a similar request for Daniel D. Bailey, 46, of Urbana, was denied after he failed to appear for the hearing.
