MONROE TOWNSHIP, OH — A failure to yield the right-of-way triggered a complex three-vehicle collision Tuesday afternoon, involving a pickup truck and a specialized “triple-header” semi-transport.

The crash occurred at approximately 3:18 PM on May 5, 2026, at the intersection of Five Points Pike and State Route 56. According to the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office, the accident left the roadway closed for over two hours as crews worked to clear the wreckage.

The Chain Reaction

The crash investigation, led by Deputy Zachary Irwin, determined that Brandon Wiseman, 22, of Chillicothe, was driving a blue Ford F-150 northbound on Five Points Pike. Wiseman reportedly came to the stop sign at the intersection of SR-56, but then proceeded into the path of oncoming traffic.

Wiseman’s pickup was struck by a westbound Kenworth T880 semi-truck driven by Wesley Floyd, 54, of Westerville. The impact caused Floyd to lose control of the semi, which then careened into a third vehicle—a white Chevrolet 3500 pickup driven by Christopher Mace, 49, of Ashville—which was traveling eastbound on SR-56.

A “Triple” Semi Loss

The collision involved significant property damage, particularly to the Kenworth semi. At the time of the crash, the Kenworth was being used as a transport unit, hauling two additional brand-new semi-trucks. All three heavy-duty vehicles sustained damage in the wreck.

Additionally, the third vehicle involved (the Chevy 3500 owned by “Your Lawn Inc.”) was pulling a trailer loaded with a “Z Spray Max” commercial lawn sprayer.

Injuries and Citations

Despite the scale of the collision and the disabling damage to the vehicles, the Sheriff’s Office reported that no serious injuries were suspected at the scene. All three drivers were wearing their seatbelts, and air bags deployed in the primary striking units.

Deputies cited Wiseman for Failure to Yield the Right-of-Way at a Through Highway (ORC 4511.43). Investigators also noted that Wiseman was unable to provide proof of insurance at the time of the report.

Traffic in the Monroe Township area was heavily impacted, with the roadway remaining closed until approximately 7:23 PM while specialized tow units cleared the three semi-trucks and the commercial lawn equipment from the intersection.
