Fatal Pedestrian Crash Under Investigation in Liberty Township

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, OH — An 82-year-old Baltimore man lost his life Tuesday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross a road in Fairfield County.

The Lancaster post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) reported that the collision occurred shortly before 5:00 PM on Blacklick Road, near the intersection of Heimberger Road.

Details of the Incident

According to investigators, Stephen Venturini was crossing Blacklick Road on foot when he was struck by a 2017 Subaru Impreza. The vehicle was being operated by a 73-year-old male driver, also a resident of Baltimore.

Tragically, Venturini was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. The driver of the Subaru sustained minor injuries and received treatment from medical personnel on-site.

Ongoing Investigation

The Ohio State Highway Patrol has not yet released information regarding potential charges or the specific factors that led to the crash. The incident remains under active investigation.
