CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — Residents are invited to dig into nature and celebrate the importance of trees at the annual Arbor Day Fair on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Barthelmas Park Shelter House.
Hosted by the Circleville Tree Commission, the free community event will feature a variety of interactive and educational activities designed for all ages. Local partners, including the Pickaway County Master Gardeners, Rumpke Recycling, and the Pickaway County Parks District, will host informational tables and demonstrations throughout the morning.
The event will kick off with an official Arbor Day proclamation delivered by Mayor Blanton at 9 a.m., highlighting the city’s ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and urban forestry.
Families attending the fair can take home free tree seedlings while supplies last and enjoy hands-on activities for children, including arts and crafts where kids can create their own “tree hat.” Educational demonstrations are also scheduled, with a tree pruning session at 10 a.m. followed by a tree planting demonstration at 11 a.m.
Organizers say the fair is an opportunity to learn about proper tree care, sustainability practices, and the role trees play in improving air quality, providing shade, and enhancing the beauty of the community. City arborists and Tree Commission members will be available on-site to answer questions and provide guidance.
The Circleville Tree Commission noted that their ongoing tree-planting efforts have been so successful that they expect to surpass 15,000 trees planted, underscoring the city’s dedication to expanding its urban canopy.
The Arbor Day Fair is free and open to the public. Community members are encouraged to attend, learn, and celebrate the value of trees in Circleville.
