CHILLICOTHE, OH — The Chillicothe Police Department handled a diverse range of calls on Monday, March 16, 2026, including a serious domestic incident involving child endangerment, a vehicle theft, and a hit-skip crash caught on municipal court cameras.

Domestic Violence and Child Endangerment

The day began with a high-priority call at 1:26 AM on Jackson Avenue. Officers responding to a domestic dispute filed a report including charges of Endangering Children and Menacing.

Later in the morning and into the evening, officers were called to several other domestic-related disturbances:

  • Lincoln Park: An “active threats” complaint triggered a police response just after 10:00 AM.
  • Olive Street: Officers intervened in an active domestic dispute just before noon.
  • South Brownell Street: A disorderly conduct investigation was launched following a domestic call at approximately 10:20 PM.

Stolen Vehicle and Hit-Skip Crash

Property and vehicular crimes were also a focus for Monday’s shifts:

  • Motor Vehicle Theft: At 2:03 PM, a victim reported a stolen vehicle from East 2nd Street. The investigation remains pending.
  • Main Street Hit-Skip: A parked vehicle belonging to Stephanie Brown was struck while parked in front of Globe Furniture (63 E. Main St.). Chillicothe Municipal Court staff reviewed surveillance video, which showed an older, green 90s-model Chevy Silverado truck striking the driver-side mirror while traveling westbound. While the plate was not legible in the footage, police have a still image of the suspect vehicle.

Warrants and Arrests

Police successfully cleared multiple warrants throughout the day:

  • North Poplar Street: A suspicious person complaint led to an arrest on an active warrant (IBA).
  • Greenlawn Cemetery: Officers served a warrant on a wanted individual at the cemetery on Eastern Avenue just before 10:00 AM.

Non-Suspicious Death Investigation

Late Monday night, at 9:58 PM, officers and emergency crews were dispatched to East 7th Street regarding a “non-breather.” While the investigation is ongoing, authorities have currently classified the incident as a non-suspicious death.

Other Activity

Officers also investigated a “vehicular trespass” complaint at the Law Enforcement Complex on North Paint Street and handled various disorderly conduct reports throughout the city.
