LANCASTER, Ohio — A Lancaster man was killed Thursday night in a head-on crash in Fairfield County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol Lancaster Post responded around 9:09 p.m. on March 12 to a two-vehicle crash on Pleasantville Road near State Route 158 in Greenfield Township.
Investigators said a 2015 Toyota 4Runner driven by Karla Vick, 66, of Buckeye Lake was traveling eastbound on Pleasantville Road. At the same time, a 2015 Chevrolet Sonic driven by Seth Peele, 33, of Lancaster was traveling westbound on the same road when the vehicles collided head-on.
Vick was flown by medical helicopter to Grant Medical Center with serious injuries. Peele was pronounced dead at the scene by the Fairfield County Coroner’s Office.
Authorities said multiple agencies assisted at the scene, including the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office, Basil Fire Department, Greenfield Township Fire/EMS, the Fairfield County Engineer’s Office, and Barbers Towing.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
