
COLUMBUS – Trooper Spencer A. Large, Chillicothe Post, was promoted to the rank of sergeant on February 8 and was recognized yesterday by Colonel Charles A. Jones, Patrol superintendent, during a ceremony at the Patrol’s Training Academy. Sergeant Large transferred from his previous assignment at the Chillicothe Post to serve as assistant post commander at the Circleville Post.
Sergeant Large began his Patrol career in 2012. He earned his commission in May 2014 as a member of the 155th Academy Class and was assigned to the Gallipolis Post. As a trooper, he also served at the Jackson and Circleville posts. In 2018, he earned Trooper of the Year and District Trooper of the Year. He earned the Criminal Patrol Award nine times and the Ace Award for excellence in auto larceny enforcement six times. In 2024, he earned the Master Trooper designation.
