CIRCLEVILLE, OH — The hallways of local high schools are moving to the gallery walls this spring. ArtsaRound has officially announced the return of the Best of Pickaway County High Schools Art Show, marking its fourth year of celebrating the region’s emerging artistic talent.
The exhibition, which runs throughout the month of April, will transform the ArtsaRound Gallery at 135 W. Main St. into a showcase for the next generation of creators.
A Countywide Collaboration
The show features a diverse collection of works from students at five area schools:
- Circleville High School
- Logan Elm High School
- New Hope Christian Academy
- Teays Valley High School
- Westfall High School
By partnering directly with local art teachers, ArtsaRound provides students the rare opportunity to transition their work from the classroom to a professional public gallery. Each student is permitted to submit up to two pieces for the exhibition.
The Battle for the Traveling Trophy
While a panel of judges will review the artwork across various categories to determine official awards, the community is invited to get in on the action. Throughout April, gallery visitors can vote for their favorite school. The high school that garners the most support will be awarded the prestigious traveling trophy for the year.
“This show is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the creativity of students from across Pickaway County and give them a chance to display their work in a community gallery,” said Steve Sawyer, President of ArtsaRound and event coordinator.
Visit the Gallery
The public is encouraged to stop by the gallery during normal April hours to support local youth and witness the evolving talent within the county. For those looking for more information on the exhibition or other ArtsaRound initiatives, the gallery can be reached at (740) 672-9634.
